Costa Rica News – The Association of Professionals in Economics is outraged at the naming of Claudio Dittel Rojas as the manager of electromechanical engineering at ICE, the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity.
According to the professional organization, the law obliges any professional working in the economic sciences field to be incorporated to the organization, which Mr. Rojas is not.
ICE announced that on the 25th of November they eliminated the position of general manager to create the corporate management of administration and finance. This is part of their restructuring to attain greater staff efficiency.
On November 28th the professional body asked that ICE take immediate corrective action, as they are illegally exercising the profession.
ICE explains that the position requires multidisciplinary skills, so they are not violating any laws.
