Costa Rica Travel News – What could be more ideal than having all you need in a large studio apartment that’s in the cool mountain climate but near the city and the beach? Summerland apartments fit that description, one that is hard to find elsewhere.
Their apartments are nice for vacationing or living in. If you are retired or work from home you will find the location to be perfect, peaceful and set apart from the noise of the city and the heat of the coastal towns, but still a quick drive to every option imaginable. The town is on one of the highest mountains in the area, where different levels separate the properties for ultimate privacy. The roads are perfectly paved all the way up the mountain. Each lot in the area has trees, greenery, flowers and magnificent views. There are plenty of rivers in the area. There are also small markets and fresh fruit stands.
Summerland has 3 apartments to choose from. Our apartment was complete with a kitchen, full bath with tub and hot water, internet, cable, a local telephone line, screened windows, a fan, and all the furniture and linens needed for 2 adults. They made great use of each area of the studio, so there’s no wasted space. We enjoyed having our coffee outside on the spacious, comfortable balcony and then spending the day at the pool and hot tub. On rainy days we were perfectly comfortable inside because there was plenty of space for both of us, high ceilings, natural light, a desk, a dining table, TV, reliable internet and really nice decorations including beautiful paintings from Nicaragua.
The apartments are in Alto San Juan, about a 15 minute drive to the downtown area where you will find all the conveniences from banks to parks, museums and places of worship. They have activities to get involved in such as meditation classes, art lessons and a women’s club. There’s a fabulous farmers market on Thursdays and Fridays. It’s the largest I’ve seen in the country! They also have an organic farmers market on Tuesdays. The surrounding area offers canopy tours, surfing lessons, ATV and horseback rides, and many other tours to keep you busy. Nature lovers will not run out of birds, waterfalls, jungles scenes and beaches to enjoy. Dominical, the best surfing beach, is just a 35 minute drive away.
Summerland is a private community that has rentals- the apartments and larger homes too- and options to buy or build. They offer rental management for those of you interested in buying and living there part time. One lot is nicer than the next. They have breathtaking views and refreshing breezes.
