Costa Rica Entertainment News – 90 productions are going to be screened at the 3rd International Film Festival in Costa Rica, which is to take place November 8th until the 15th.
The theme is “Peace with the Earth.” About half of the films are Costa Rican and the others international.
They will compete for prizes in various categories like animation, documentary, fiction and music video. Some are not competing but will be part of the festival by being on display. Three additional prizes will be given out, two of $10,000 for projects in development and one of $2,000 for making a short film in just 48 hours.
Big Beauty; Party Girl; Like Father, Like Son; and Two Days, One Night are some of the features that can be enjoyed. They are from Italy, France, Japan and Belgium, respectively.
The director of the Center for Audiovisual Production explained that the festival aims to promote respect for diversity, the value of life, and non-violence. They hope that the festival will bring about connections between the audiovisual sector and the tourism industry. The festival also sparks international dialogue about the film law in Costa Rica.
This will be mentioned at some of the workshops throughout the week.
