Costa Rica Picture of the Day – Each day the Costa Rican Times will be including a picture from around Costa Rica to see the natural beauty and amazing things that we get to see each day in the land of the Pura Vida.
“If you’re looking for white-faced capuchin monkeys in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is without a doubt the place to go! It’s no coincidence that the Costa Verde Hotel where this monkey was photographed has the slogan: “More monkeys than people!”
The guides will tell you that you’ll have the most success at finding some first thing in the morning, but I’ve had more luck around midday.
This particular monkey was just sitting on a wall, eating, and didn’t seem particularly bothered by me.
The expression on its face made me laugh, so I decided to keep the shot!
In terms of post-processing, I just brightened up a few of the colors in the background with Photomatix to make my capuchin stand out a little more.”
