Costa Rica News – (Surf Report July 18th and July 19th) – We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and we have our new Model of the Week. This weekend is is great for surfers looking to get out in some good size learning waves, with some intermediate sets scattered in. Both the Pacific and Caribbean sides are boasting head high sets with a few waves that are about a half meter overhead. We have also added surf video from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica. FRIDAY: SW swell holds with similar size. Overhead for top areas.
WEATHER/WIND: Most areas will see light/variable to light offshore wind for the early mornings, before a moderate onshore S-SW seabreeze gradually develops over the mid to late morning hours and into each afternoon. NOTE – Good chance for the wind to back off into the evenings for a glass off for some locations before dark, especially the more sheltered/tucked away spots. NOTE – Passing showers or thunderstorms due to temporarily affect/change local wind conditions.
Friday 07/18 – 1.2-1.8m – shoulder high to 1 ft overhead – SW swell continues
Saturday 07/19 – 0.9-1.5m – waist to head high – Easing SW swell

Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast rising slightly later in the next few days. Light and variable northeast winds with smooth seas until Saturday. Moderate short period wind waves from the east-northeast falling slightly during the early part of next week. Light northeast winds with a slight chop later.
Friday 07/18 – 1.5-1.8m – Head high to 0.3m overhead – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable south winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the northeast.
Saturday 07/19 – 1.8-2.1m – Shoulder high to 0.5m overhead – Moderate mid period swell from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable east winds, Increasing later and switching to the northeast.
