Costa Rica News & Events – Papaya con Leche, a top bikini brand in Costa Rica, will host a unique Fashion Show at Hotel Diria in Tamarindo, on 17.05.2014. Proceeds from the show will be donated to La Paz Community School, in support of their scholarship program.
Kata Kis, the designer and owner of the brand, has collaborated with the local La Paz Community School, to organize this elegant, original and fun filled event.
First, a design contest titled ‘FRUITI-LICIOUS’ was held at the school. Eight student’s drawings were selected as winners.
“Cultivating creative expression has great benefits for the kids and having the tangible outcome literally materialize in front of their eyes, is a great success of this partnership with Papaya con Leche. Being able to contribute a creative spark in a professional environment teaches teamwork.” – Kerry McClennen, English Teacher at La Paz.
The winners will be able to see their drawings come to life, at the opening of the show. Their designs will be actualized and created by Papaya con Leche’s design team, and then modeled on the runway, poolside at Hotel Diria by selected students, who were also invited to walk the runway as models and little stars of the show.
Kata Kis explains her inspiration for this year’s event:
“I organized this competition to inspire creativity in the fashion design field and have the kids witness how their own designs will come to life on the runway! Early inspiration and guidance were key factors in my life and brought me to where I am today. The entries we received were all endearing versions of a kid’s vision of a FRUITILICIOUS style.
They are refreshing and make me recall my first drawings.”
After the students, models will hit the runway to present the latest collection of bikinis from Papaya con Leche, promising the liveliness of spring and the warm kiss of summer in their designs. The latest collection will be available for purchase at the shop in Tamarindo or online at www.papayaconleche.com
The show will end with a stunning showcase of original evening dresses by Kata Kis, glamorous and with a touch of extravagance.
Tickets for the show are available at Papaya con Leche or at Hotel Diria on 17.05.2014. The fashion show will start at 7pm promising a lot of music, fashion and fun for stylish parents, children and fashionistas alike.
