Costa Rica News – Costa Rica is one of the world’s most naturally beautiful countries. Waterfalls abound in this paradise! Each one offers its own unique ecological qualities and attractive features. I’m sure you’d like to visit each one. A hidden gem, off the beaten path, is one called Diamante Falls.
Diamante Falls in Playa Dominical, Costa Rica is actually a series of seven falls cascading down a tropical green rock wall. The first waterfall begins at 3,300 feet.
This remote location takes about a half hour to hike to. This provides you the opportunity to reflect, meet other nature-lovers, or search for hidden jungle creatures.
The final waterfall is a 600 ft elegant fall which is truly peaceful. The sound of rushing water is a perfect backdrop for a relaxing time sunbathing or swimming in the natural pool. The indigenous people claim that this water has healing powers.
The surroundings of the Diamante Falls and Rio Baru area house macaws, toucans, sloths, armadillos, monkeys, and many reptiles. If you go with a guide they can lead you to some edible hearts of palm and magic berry plants, which help turn sour food sweet.
While you are in the area, try rappelling and check out a hotel called “Sleep Behind a Waterfall Ecolodge.”
