Costa Rica News – This weekend there is no ASP Surfing Event but Fiji is coming up in about a month. We are going to give you the surf forecast for Costa Rica and add in some pictures of beautiful surf girls in bikinis. Enjoy a pretty nice weekend of waves in Costa Rica from May 10th to 11th. FRIDAY: New SW swell slowly builds as the old SSW energy fades out. The better exposed breaks offer surf mainly around the waist high zone, while some of the standout spots produce occasional sets up to chest-shoulder high during the more favorable tide windows.
WEATHER/WIND: Generally light+ offshore ENE wind for the early mornings (strongest near the Nica border), with a light to moderate seabreeze likely to developing in the afternoons. Chance for evening glassoff for many areas before dark.
NOTE – Passing or nearby showers and thunderstorms can temporarily affect/change local wind conditions. A new and fun size SW swell moves in this weekend. More good SPAC swells lining up for the second half of the month. Check the full premium forecast for more details!
Friday 05/10 – 1.2-2.1m – shoulder high to 2 ft overhead occ. 2.4m – SW shifting SSW swell
Saturday 05/11 – 0.9-1.5m – waist to head high occ. 1.8m – Slow building SW swell
Caribbean Costa Rica Forecast
SSW swell continued to ease on Wednesday, which provided many of the better exposed breaks with waves in the waist-chest high zone. Some of the standout spots still produced occasional sets up to shoulder high or so, which were most prominent during that spot’s more favorable tide windows.
Friday 05/10 – 0.9-1.2m – Knee to shoulder – Small short period wind waves from the east-northeast rising slightly later in the day. Light north-northwest winds, increasing rapidly later and switching to the northeast.
Saturday 05/11– 1.8-2.1m – Shoulder high to 0.5m overhead – Moderate short period wind waves from the east-northeast holding during the day. Light and variable east-northeast winds with smooth seas, increasing rapidly later.
